Killarney Abattoir is nestled in the foothills of the Great Dividing Range.
Located on the Border of Queensland and New South Wales, it lies in the town of Killarney, 34 km West of Warwick and 165 km South West of Brisbane. The town itself has been dubbed "The scenic gem of the Darling Downs"; a beautiful area incorporating national parks, scenic tourist drives and vaste rich grasslands which are perfect for the grazing of cattle.
To get to Killarney from Brisbane, it is best to travel down via Boonah then on the Cunningham Highway to Warwick. Then travel West towards Queen Mary Falls then look for the turnoff to Killarney. Heavy vehicles are advised to use the main roads in from Warwick (Nth) and Woodenbong (Sth).
Queensland's Darling Downs, and the New England Tableland in Northern New South Wales have long been vitally important to Australia's grazing and feedlotting industries, giving Killarney Abattoir a geographical advantage when it comes supply of stock for processing. |
